The first time Lucius graced the Lagunitas Petaluma Amphitheater stage in 2014, the unexpected happened. As they walked into the audience to film an intimate version of their beautiful cover of Dave Davies’ “Strangers”, we took notice of the many hand held video devices. After a bit of crowd sourcing and hours of editing, this special video was born to keep the goosebump-inducing, magical moment alive.
Lucius returned to Petaluma in 2019 in partnership with Newport Folk Festival. In hopes of encouraging the spirit of collaboration, we invited multual friends of both Newport and Lagunitas. With appearances from Merrill Garbus of Tune Yards, Son Little and Miya Folick, we secured an unforgetable evening of collaborative memories.
In 2015 Lucius and Lagunitas teamed up for a special fundraising tour through the Pacific Northwest. Each concert turned beer into money for the cause for local non-profits, with proceeds and beer and commemorative poster sales reaching an amazing $33,000 supporting the local causes.
The last stop of the special fundraising tour was no where other than our hometown of Petaluma and the iconic Phoenix Theater. Lucius painted a mural inside the theater and performed a hauntingly beautiful version of their wonderful song “Dusty Trails”.
