Unrefined Shugga’

Unrefined Shugga' Sideways

Strong Ale

Originally, a curious mistake that resulted in an all-new-beer-style we liked to call…Irresponsible. We’ve upgraded this Sweet Release with the addition of Whole Cane Sugar for a delightfully unrefined experience.

Mouthfeels

STYLE

Unrefined Shugga’ is our winter-warming, holidaze BarleyWine, clocking in at 10% alc./vol. It’s chockfull of malted barley, malted wheat, Munich malt, and crystal malts, then generously dry-hopped with Simcoe, Columbus, Cascade, and Centennial hops. Unrefined Shugga’ gets its name from the addition of whole cane Panela sugar. It’s basically the holidays in a glass.

Beverage Specs

Sticky Clean

The raw sugar makes you think this beer would be cloyingly sweet, but the fermentation dries it all out, leaving a super clean finish that makes you want to take another sip.

Dank Hop

Some classic C hops bring the dank, layering over the molasses flavors, melding into something super unique.

Molasses

The unrefined sugar brings over all the flavor of raw sugar cane, including what goes into making molasses. Slightly smoky, slightly apple, slightly vanilla, slightly spicy, slightly savory. Makes the beer really well rounded.

Now I say, old dog, that what I am hearing is simply preposterous. Something as cultured as a brewery yeast, being fed whole cane sugar … it’s pure poppycock! Malarkey! Flapdoodle! Humbuggery! Codswallop! Hogwash! Drivel! Prattle! Babble! Taradiddle! Rubbish! Fiddle-faddle! Jiggery-pokery! Hooey! Tommyrot! Bunkum! Foolery! Horsefeathers! Bafflegab! Piffle! Hornswoggle! Mumbo-jumbo! It’s downright, straight-up, stultiloquent trash and I won’t have it! Well, give it here like a good lad and let me taste the ludicrous liquid. How unrefined! Perhaps you should call us with your sesquipedalian synopsis: 707.769.4495 Cheers!
