The Senior Graphic Design Lead is responsible for creating and implementing design solutions that meet product and marketing strategies from concept to completion. You will lead a team of graphic designers to develop creative design solutions for all brand channels including packaging, events, retail and digital. You will partner creatively and strategically with key stakeholders to bring Lagunitas to life in bold, unexpected ways. Reports to Head of Brand Development.

Be creative: You understand the power of brand and design and when and where to use big ideas. You have deep knowledge of both concept and execution of brand touchpoints and how to collaborate with a cross-functional team to get this done. You know how to bring people along in your thinking and are always in ‘idea’ mode. You will work with the Head of Brand Development to come up with innovative ideas and manage day-to-day creative requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the Lagunitas graphic design team
- Lead concept and design of packaging pipeline (labels, carriers etc)
- Lead design for all brand channels including events, retail, digital and taprooms
- Collaborate with Integrated Creative team to design for integrated programs.
- Liaise with Director of Integrated Creative and project managers to ensure meeting brief objectives and deadlines.
- Interact with outside vendors, including printers and label manufacturers, on multiple projects. Attend press checks.

Ability to present and articulate creative point of view to cross-functional team, both written and in person. Lead the Lagunitas graphic design team, mentor and mange designers.

You are a good multi-tasker, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Prepare files for print and ensure quality of printed materials.
Be a team player: Listen to others to solve creative challenges and take direction when needed. Be an active participant in meetings. Check in regularly with design team to provide direction and mentoring. Foster positive and collaborative relationships between graphic design team, integrated creative team and wider marketing team.
8+ years of design experience working on CPG brands at an agency or in-house creative department. 3+ years of experience in leading and managing team. Strong strategic thinker, creative leader and deep branding knowledge. A strong and diverse portfolio demonstrating packaging and brand projects and a track record of bringing innovative ideas to life. Proficient in Creative Suite - InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator. Designing for digital experience a plus. Good print production knowledge. Proactively looks for latest trends in design and technology and utilizes them where appropriate. Ability to multi-task and handle several competing initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency. Passion for Lagunitas and the craft beer industry. A keen eye for trends, typography and attention to detail. Results-driven focus and tenacious work ethic, with the drive, resolve, and urgency to do “whatever it takes” to accomplish specific goals. Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate and prioritize. Love of dogs is optional, but tolerance of dogs is mandatory.
