The Plant Manager oversees the day-to-day manufacturing operations including packaging, warehouse, maintenance/engineering, and facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining quality, efficiency, safety, and ensuring that the brewery meets production goals and standards while managing manufacturing costs. Provides direct oversight for the operations management team including packaging, engineering, maintenance, warehousing/inventory, and facilities. Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Foster a culture of high performance and accountability; oversee the hiring, training and development of all operations personnel. Develop and manage facility budget including capital expenditures and cost management.
Minimum of 10 years progressive manufacturing experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a significant leadership role. Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations or equivalent required; MBA or advanced degree a plus. Manufacturing experience in a Food, Beverages, CPG or related industry preferred. Knowledge of the principal unit operations of beer brewing and packaging preferred. Previous experience and a strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access). Previous experience implementing and using lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement. Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies. Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs. Strong flexibility to adapt to a changing environment within a high growth organization. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Must be highly motivated with the ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives and prioritize projects. Excellent communication skills; able to clearly articulate issues, opportunities, and risk when making decisions.
Physical requirements: Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator. Work environment is primarily indoors in both operations and within an office environment.
