Event Coordinator - Chicago

The Event Coordinator supports the overall marketing strategy to drive brand and community engagement throughout each phase of the events plan: research, registration, activation, execution and recap. Through proactive planning and successful execution of local events and community-based programs, this Lagunitas ambassador grows our brand awareness and affinity throughout the Midwest. 

Based on Regional Marketing Manager’s direction, completes event registrations accurately and on time. Negotiates event and sponsorship agreements. Coordinates event logistics including determining product needs, shipping of signage/tents, travel plans and coordinating staff. Works with Sales to coordinate product orders for events delivered by distributors. Communicates with stakeholders to ensure alignment on the details of events. Maintains the Marketing database for planning and recapping events. Pulls database reports to track against marketing goals. Submits check requests and updates budget. Researches new event opportunities and provides recommendations. Assists in hiring and training part-time event staff and interns. Manages maintenance of all event equipment and vehicles. Attends and works events based on Regional Marketing Manager’s direction.

A minimum of 1 year event experience: including the organization, planning and successful execution of the event (beer business preferred). Must be at least 21 years of age. Demonstrated capacity to lead teams and cultivate strong relationships in and outside of the organization. Strong passion for Lagunitas and knowledge of the craft beer business. Outgoing and high energy; enjoys high volume of public interaction; positive attitude and strong verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and collaborate effectively with event producers and vendors. Able to demonstrate integrity, mature judgment in handling all matters. Excellent organization and problem solving skills; works well under pressure. Awareness of trends in festivals (i.e. music, beer, food, art). Demonstrated negotiation experience and skills. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Highly motivated and able to work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings and weekends.
